Ode to Innocence

Ode to Innocence

Shama e chiraag jo bujha diya
Buzdilon ne gunaah aur gustaakh se
Lahoo ye laal na kabhi mitegaa
Humaare zahan o dimaag se
Roshan e khaas thhe wo,
Agaam khwaaiyishein thhe wo
Aye zaalim tere is napaak khayalon mein
Kahaan thhaa khauf Khuda ka?
Kya tere banjar dil ne .....
insaaniyat aur jazba bilkul hi bhula diya?

The Moon

The Moon

If Stars held our destiny,
The Moon they say hold our dreams
On the backdrops of a black blue sky,
Shining like a silver shield
To heaven it belongs, bears to earth a witness
Owns the night, an elegant heiress
Diana, Luna, Selene call what you may
She ramps the starwalk, in her determinant way
To her own will, to her own whims
Crazy crescent plays a game of shapes
With its charm it casts a spell
Deep dark mystique as well
Dazzles and showers its aura divine
Lullabies to hearts that pine
Inspire lone hearts to rhyme
At the end of each day, starts a new Once upon a time...

Grey

GREY
Copyright © SHRAVANI MUKHERJEE
O! to run, to belong nowhere
Thanatos taketh far away
Into His land, colored grey
Life and soul have no role to play
Conscious mind donot here stay
No joy, no feel, no emotion tamed
No “Whys” and “Hows” no one to blame
Frozen clock, cold and pale
No tears, sorrow, heartaches and pain
Lost or finally settled in lonely terrains
Grounded in deep burial of barren
A search for peace, my eventual end.

Restless Mind: A Tempest

Restless Mind: A Tempest

A whirlwind of thoughts
Clashing head on storms
It is a vortex of dark tormentuous pain
Emotions tumbling like heavy showers and rain
Rippling cascade of tides overbearing
Hear the winds howling?
Stooping walls of hurdles crawl in
The flash and shores are beyond imagery
Whispers are louder than the cheers
Silence now evades in high decibels
Flooded, trapped destined to sink
Could the anchor pave a miracle stint?

Dark Blues

DARK BLUES
Copyright © SHRAVANI MUKHERJEE
Deep, calm and fathomic
Horizon beyond the shore
Lives entagled in beastly realms
Dark unreached by sun or even crescent lune.
Tides or surf, the ocean whirls
Mysteries it holds beneath
Cascades and ripples foamy froths
Hiding translucence and knotty weeds
Its tied its free, at confounding helms
Two poles tearing it apart
The present is lost in duels of future and past.
Unrest, turmoils, a search for peace
Furores are paced with new wave that starts.
