WISHES

WISHES
Copyright © SHRAVANI MUKHERJEE
If wishes grew on trees, would pluck them ripe
If wishes were stars, would reach upto the skies
If wishes were showers, would drench in the rains
If wishes were bound, would unshackle its chains
If wishes were rays, would in sunlight drape
If wishes were rainbows, would color all scape
If wishes were bricks, would build the wall
If wishes were flutters, would catch them all
If wishes were warm, would use them when i’m low
If wishes were love, would never let you go
But wishes are hopes, conjured in dreams
And wishes are true, when worked upon with faith and belief

THE TRAMP

The Tramp

To feel the waves, to fight the tides
To trek on rocks, to scale new heights
To smell the blooms, to bed in dreams
To scrap the rusts, from across dry leaves
To hear the song, to fly like dove
To dance in rain, to bathe in love
To play in dust, like the ants and mites
To stand tall, in peril with might
To cast away regrets, to walk the line
To be in tune, with the melody entwined
To leave a print, on the canvass of sand
The Tramp embarks upon voyage à la Life

SPELLBOUND

SPELLBOUND

The dark clouds in her evil embrace,
Has hid my dear moon's shiny face
When will it pour the crystal showers?
Want my crescent unshackled from her arms!
The stars all with their baited breath await..
To dance in the aura of lunar beam again
The thunder cheers and claps for rain to begin.
With these happy spells, the brunette is dismissed
The mystique moonlit charm reappears,
The celestials bow in awe to his revered grace

The Escapist

The Escapist

Just like the retreating ocean’s tide
Just like the sunset in vanilla twilight
Just like the rainbow after a colourful sight
Just like the friend with whom you had a fight
Just like the song when you lose the melody
Just like the pain after a remedy
Just like the fear at every new challenge
Just like the youth as there advents age
Just like the crescent before new-moon
Just like the overhead shadow after noon
Just like the lover after his promise
Just like the life after death hath kissed
To be gone in search of respite
Away far away, O the escapist arise!

The 7 Ironies of Life!

The 7 Ironies of Life!

vCopyright © SHRAVANI MUKHERJEE

To define the good theres ought to be bad
To see the light you should be first lost in dark
Devil has to be there to ensure you follow the Angel
Truth tastes bitter after sugar-coated lies
Hope arrives when you are utterly despaired
Only when you lose, you know the joy of gain
Theres always a new beginning after every end
