Zaahid ne..

An attempt to translate
Abida Parveen's rendition of Asghar
Gondvi’s “Zaahid ne..”

A radiance of His halo divine,
In a veiled superfluous vasts
Alas The earth has forgotten
Thy spiritual shine

Zaahid, He who claims His devout
The epitome of faith he knows not
Not even the brunette curls
Could meander me from my path

Any connoisseur would behold
The endurance in such eternal charm
Soulful innocence endowed
With depths are unfathomably unknown

Struggled to ward off lures and tempts
Even the wants of diamonds and immortal gains
My tales of strength and passion are folklore
To my faith i renounced all riches and dreams galore
