A NARCISSUS

A NARCISSUS

Why is it always about me?
Why is it always about my dreams?
Why am I occupying my own thoughts?
Why about whom I love or with whom I fought?
Why am I my own inspiration?
Why indulge in self-praise and admiration?
Why I draw my bounds and limits?
Why believe I own every hours and minutes?
Why do I have to take my own decisions?
Why do I have those million reasons?
Why do I trust myself?
Why look in me for my confidence?
Why write my own songs?
Why pick my rights from my wrongs?
I am just one small grain of sand in the heap
Eventually to be lost forever in the bottom deep
And yet I go on and on and on and on...
The selfish Narcissus that matters to no one!!

CHANGED: A LOST CHILDHOOD

CHANGED: A LOST CHILDHOOD

Where gone are those days?
I’ve lost all my old ways
Have I changed?
Or is it the time running unchained!

Where is that bright sunny smile on my face?
Tensions and confusions got me and a fake one in its place
Have I changed?
Or is it the time running unchained!

Where are my dolls that were always in my care?
Buried in some old boxes, I no more wanna play
Have I changed?
Or is it the time running unchained!

Where are those butterflies that I used to chase?
They are still there but I got no moments to waste
Have I changed?
Or is it the time running unchained!

Why do the colors from the rainbow seem to fade?
Life seems monotonous with a single color grey
Have I changed?
Or is it the time running unchained!

Where are my innocent childhood days?
Lost as I ascent every step of stair called “age”
Yes! I have changed
For better or worse, only time will tell!!

Disappointed

. . But no more (at least for a while)
I'd rather cry and shed some tears
I am so tired of faking that smile
Dead are dreams, alive are my fears
The story is long, longer than the Nile
Do not pretend that you want to hear . .

A CRY FOR HUMANITY

As the GOOD triumphs over the EVIL, lets pray that our HUMANITY successfully combats the demon called POVERTY . . . .
A CRY FOR HUMANITY

Hello are you listening?
This isn’t a poem nor a song to sing
This is a cry, an earnest one
So just listen and let know everyone

That all children who love fairytales,
Don’t live one themselves
Because in their impoverished life –
They are trying to meet ends

That all children who are born
Don’t have the good care and proper hygiene
They are the ones called the homeless
Deprived of basic amenities and environment clean

That all children in their childhood
Are not playing with bright colors and toys
Their innocence is crushed
They are unaware of life’s simple joys

That all children growing up
Are not educated enough to spell their own names
They never had the time and resource
Enslaved and burdened they live their life of shame

That all these children who live the hard life
Each of them has a dream in their tired eyes
Battling hunger, thirst and for shelter to survive
Victims of poverty, illiteracy and ofcourse time

Wondering how lucky and privileged I am
All my grumblings for stuff and my loss –
What was that for?
Does that really matter?
When I know what these kids never got!

The least we can do is practice humanity
And join hands to fight the demon called poverty.

FAMILY
There are those who are next to God for me
The three wonderful people I call my family
Includes my parents and li’l brother deary
Without them I wouldn’t have been living this life possibly

FRIENDS
There are those who have been and still are here
The greatest gift to me, my friends all dear
With whom my joys and secrets I share
And in times of distress I know they are near

ABOMINATES
There are those from core of my heart I hate
Although they are numbered few
I believe meeting them was part of my fate
And I forgive them but forget I will never

STRANGERS
And there are those who mean nothing to me
They are the strangers my fellow beings
Some just voyeurs for reasons I will never find
And some good Samaritans boon to mankind

SPECIAL
There is someone somewhere very special
Only for me he is there for sure in real
Waiting for the time when we will meet
And he will sweep me off my feet!!
